Twenty years ago, our founder, Manuel Sanchez, was living in his home country of Ecuador. Around the time his family started immigrating to the United States, he realized that he was unsatisfied with conventional jewelry and glass cleaning products. A chemist by trade, he decided to take matters into his own hands by developing a better product. After years of hard work, research, and experimentation, Sparklean was born!

We began creating our proprietary product over 20 years ago with hopes of filling a multi-faceted niche need. Decades later, it’s clear Manuel was on to something when he invented the Sparklean formula.
After over a year and a half of formulaic trial and error, Manuel finally found the perfect cleaning formula – and the perfect way to combine his strengths, experience, and passion. In Ecuador, Manuel was an entrepreneur. Always the enthusiastic “working man,” he owned farms and a marketing company, despite graduating from University with a degree in chemistry. When he moved his family to America to join his son, Daniel, who was already here for college, he integrated his chemistry roots with his business savvy, and the product behind Sparklean was born.
In our company’s formative years, we tested our product in any way we could. This included endless feedback from aunts, uncles, and other family and friends, who we would gather at family functions and reunions to test the latest iteration of our product and practice promoting the product we so strongly believed in.
Those countless hours of diligence and elbow grease paid off when we opened our first location in the Bayside Marketplace in the Downtown Miami area in 2003. This two-story, open-air shopping center was a perfect place to begin our commercial journey. Situated on the banks of the beautiful Biscayne Bay and across the street from American Airlines Arena (home of the National Basketball Association’s Miami Heat), the marketplace is recognized by the Greater Miami Convention & Visitor's Bureau as the No. 1-most-visited attraction in Miami.
By opening in such a lively area, we began our business with a connection to the local community. This was our inception in a vibrant community, and gave us exposure to incredible amounts of foot traffic and local tourism.
Today, we’ve taken those roots and expanded them across the country with 13 locations nationwide, and plans for the Sparklean brand to be found in malls in every major market in America, as well as in international locations.
The Sanchez family quickly found that Sparklean was their ticket to building a new life in America.
They began selling the product in their local community, and soon found themselves in control of a steadily growing business. It wasn’t long before they found that shopping malls made the ideal venue to sell their jewelry and glass cleaning product. One of the best things about selling Sparklean is that it’s easy to demonstrate, and results speak for themselves. Mall kiosks enjoy some of the best foot traffic in shopping malls. As patrons walk past them toward their destinations, they can’t help but notice the prominently-displayed goods. Sparklean salespeople are able to conduct public demonstrations of the product, grabbing the attention of passers-by by easily returning their jewelry and eye glasses to new conditions while they watch! Incidentally, leasing a mall kiosk is significantly less expensive than leasing a storefront, keeping overhead costs low.
The Sanchez family also found that the versatility of the glass and jewelry cleaning product made it popular with a wide range of customers. Unlike conventional cleaning products, Sparklean can be used to restore luster to a number of items. That means it appeals not only to its intended target audience of jewelry owners, but also to many other demographics as well! For instance, coin collectors love that Sparklean is effective enough to keep their collection sparkling but gentle enough to be used without fear of damaging their coins.
